Purple Heart oder Amaranth (Peltogyne lecointei (venosa) is a deciduous tree native to the coastal regions of South America with growth heights of up to 45m. 

It is used in furniture making and cabinet making and develops a characteristic reddish-purple-brown hue. The color tends to deepen with age. Warm and natural to the touch.

Clean carefully with a damp cloth, the olive does not tolerate prolonged contact with water. The hardwood handles are very popular and provide a great contrast to stainless steel machines and worktops.
