The BigStep: Patented accuracy of fit, the best materials and high-quality craftsmanship make the high-end tamper from Pullman the most popular tool among professional baristas around the world.
The BigStep is the non-plus-ultra among tampers and has not won countless titles at barista and latte art championships for nothing. But the BigStep is also very popular in the home sector.
Thanks to the patented step, which enables a diameter of 58.55 mm with extremely low tolerances of +/- 0.02 mm, the big step fits exactly into the precision screens specially made for the Pullman system and thus prevents any channeling from the outset .
The result is an extremely even puck that is optimally compressed even at the edges of the basketes. Only the patented 'Step' enables this maximum surface coverage, it ensures that despite the extreme fit of the tamper base to the basket, no vacuum is created when lifting after tamping.
This makes the BigStep the tamper with the largest diameter and the largest surface coverage on the market.
Extremely high-quality 440C stainless steel ensures freedom from wear and the best material properties.
Pullman cannot control the wide range of different inner diameters in many brands and weight ratings of precision screens.
Therefore, we cannot guarantee that the BigStep is compatible with third-party baskets.
We therefore strongly recommend purchasing Pullman Filtration Baskets. These are perfectly adapted to the BigStep base and checked by hand.
Pullman Barista Griff - Zebrano LONG
The most popular hardwood grips are now also available in the ultra-stylish long version - for the barista who prefer the completely natural feel and can do without the compression zone. The 'Langen Baristas' are hand-turned from one piece and, in terms of design and functionality, go particularly well with the BigStep LITE bases - at least that's what we think.
Zebrano (Microberlinia bisculata) belongs to the genus of carob trees and grows up to 40 m high. It has a light wood with narrow dark brown to almost black stripes, reminiscent of a zebra pattern.
Zebrano is hard, brittle and is used in car interiors, in furniture making and for turned objects.
Its unique grain is the reason for its popularity.
Easy to clean with a damp cloth.
